Cataract Referral Pathway
A Direct Referral can then take place from optometrist to a surgical provider which means you as the patient will achieve clearer vision quicker.
We can also Fast Track your referral to any of the Spa Medica Hospitals as an NHS patient, which are state-of-art hospitals dedicated to cataract surgery. Their waiting time can be as little as 2 weeks for your initial assessment. Your optician will assess your eligibility during your sight test.
Post -Operative Cataract Scheme
Following routine cataract surgery, the vast majority of patients can now attend to see an accredited Optometrist for their four-week post-surgery check-up, rather than attending hospital.
